Abstract
The study investigated the effectiveness of repeated observations in teaching the administration of the WAIS-R. Previous research has examined instructional procedures involving test demonstrations and test protocol evaluations. Errors detected on WAIS-R administrations at the end of instruction raised concerns about the competence of student examiners and about the method of teaching the WAIS-R. The results of this study suggest that observing and evaluating student administrations during and at the end of an assessment course reduces administration errors significantly. Students completing course requirements are competent WAIS-R examiners. Their administrations differ very little, if at all, from the standard administration procedures.
