Abstract
General surgery resident Katrina B. Mitchell, MD, served for two years as a teaching assistant in the department of surgery at Weill Bugando Medical Centre in Mwanza, Tanzania, the academic partner institution of her home hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. The following is an account of one of her experiences in East Africa.
