L'intérêt accordé à la notion de prix de référence s'est fortement développé depuis quelques années. La croissance des travaux s'est accompagnée d'une multiplication des définitions et des modélisations qui implique des difficultés d'opérationnalisation du concept. L'objet de cet article est de souligner le caractère polymorphe du concept de prix de référence, mais aussi de présenter la solidité de ses fondements et de ses applications.
