Decorrelatlon of categorical variabies. Using data from a survey of family structure and female occupation, the author shows how categorical variables can involve co-linearity as with continuous variables. Through the use of log-linear analysis and analysis of variance, these problems and traps of co-linearity can be resolved and avoided.
