This short text informs about the international conference dedicated to the life and work of Paul F. Lazarsfeld which was held in Prague, September 2011. It organizes the conference presentations into three blocks: 1) Critical analyses of social research methods that Lazarsfeld propagated; 2) Commemorations of his personality and intellectual style; 3) Studies of Lazarsfeld’s posterity and of his presence in current social research.
