Laser use has increased in cosmetic surgical procedures. This is not an innocuous tool and the use of lasers should be restricted to health care personnel trained and experienced in its use.
Physicians should be aware of state laws relative to the use of laser by health care personnel other than physicians. State statutes and RN performance of laser procedures are reviewed.
