Abstract
It is the aim of the author to call to the aesthetic doctor's attention the updating of elastocompression as well as the advantages of employing it in the immediate postoperative period for the prevention of thrombosis, hematomas, or edema. Elastocompression thus decreases postoperative pain and pigmentation. Its correct postoperative use helps prevent keloids from appearing in the treated area. Correct and systematic employment of the different elements involved in elastocompression following plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, and phlebology are discussed.
