Abstract
Advances in anesthesia, including improved sedating and amnestic agents as well as tumescent techniques, allow one to perform traditional abdominoplasty on an outpatient basis with greater safety and efficiency. Techniques for primary elimination of dog ears, periabdominal lipectomy, and repositioning of the umbilicus are discussed. Several cases are presented herein. With strict adherence to protocol and technique as well as good patient motivation and compliance, consistently excellent results are safely achieved.
