This article revisits the author's past conclusions and expectations of ultrasound liposuction as they were expressed in the 1995 article “Comparison of the Conventional and the Ultrasound Methods of Liposuction.” Based on his subsequent experience with ultrasound liposuction, the author lists the advantages and disadvantages of ultrasound liposuction, coming to the conclusion that despite the increased expense of the equipment and the media attention given to the techniques, the ultrasound techniques used today are not better than the conventional techniques and the microcannula techniques.
