Liposuction principles, updated from those established and followed in 1985, 1989, and 1991 are presented along with the early principles and commandments, some of which have been proven incorrect or only partially correct. Constant reevaluation of the science and techniques has resulted in changes to the principles of liposuction. Fourteen current principles of liposuction are listed in this article.
