Augmentation mentoplasty is a standard operation for facial contouring. A review of the currently available preformed chin implants demonstrates a lack of standardization and poor manufacturer dimensioning. This paper provides a system for standardizing the choice of implant and introduces a measuring device that can simplify the procedure. Silicone rubber extension wafers are introduced for modifying and customizing available implants. A technique for secure implant fixation, which reduces postoperative implant movement, is presented.
