The pursuit of maximizing the appearance of the body strongly links plastic surgery with body building. Surgery can provide the finishing touch to what the body builder has achieved through diet and exercise. Facial deficiencies, traumatic defects, areas not influenced by exercise, and drug side effects can bring the body builder to the surgeon's office. Knowledge of anabolic steroids and their side effects are important to those dealing with body builders.
