Abstract
It is my belief that OB-GYN physicians are qualified to practice cosmetic body surgery—lipo-suction, breast augmentations, and abdominoplasties. Their aesthetic abilities have always been present, but they have not been aware of them. Such physicians' training and practice skills have given them the necessary foundation to perform all of the cosmetic procedures as well as handle all of the complications. The OB-GYN is the physician for the “total woman” and already has patients present in his or her practice for cosmetic body surgery.
