We describe a previously healthy 39-year-old woman diagnosed with a breast abscess due to Cutibacterium avidum after breast reduction surgery. This case along with several others previously reported should raise concern for the pathogenicity and morbidity associated with this common skin flora organism in the future of breast surgery.
