Abstract
This paper describes the results of a recent study designed to measure retailers’ attitudes and policy-responses toward energy issues as they affect their stores. Specifically examined were retailers’ views toward conservation, energy management, and governmental actions in the energy area, the effects of energy shortages on retail operations, sources of energy management information, and energy responsive behaviors performed by retail firms. Particular attention is paid to the public policy and future energy management implications of these findings.
