Abstract
In this article, we describe the grant funding process for initial career researchers. This includes a discussion of research priority development, a description of the application review process, clarification of the review criteria to evaluate applications, and the characteristics of projects that have been funded in recent competitions. Several recommendations for initial career researchers are also provided to improve their ability to write competitive applications.
