Abstract
Schools face many issues regarding students with disabilities, including identification, assessment, and programming issues. Another major issue with which many schools may have to deal focuses on do-not-resuscitate (DNR) orders for children with medical conditions. Should schools honor such orders, or are they obligated to ignore those orders as part of the requirements of state or federal laws? This article provides an overview of DNR orders and students with disabilities. Current interpretations of DNR orders from several states are presented.
