To study the utility of the Spanish (American) version of the Depression Adjective Check Lists with a Mexican sample, comparisons of means and reliability of Mexican American and Mexican samples were conducted. No significant differences were found on lists E, F, and G for the two samples. Reliability (alternate form, internal consistency, and split-half) were high and very similar. Significant concurrent validity was found in the Mexican sample by means of correlations with the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale. Thus, the Spanish (American) version of the Depression Adjective Check List seems to be equally useful with Mexican and Mexican American samples.
