Abstract
It is generally believed that Hispanics adhere to traditional health practices, including dying at home. An analysis of 57,726 deaths in 1979 in Los Angeles County revealed that a slightly lower percentage of Mexican Americans (15%) than other whites (17%) died at home. An analysis of 13,235 cancer caused deaths revealed that the same percentage of Mexican Americans (13%) and other whites (13%) died at home regardless of whether they were born in the Uinited States or in another country. The data do not support the belief that Hispanics are more likely to die at home thain are other ethnic groups.
