Abstract
This article is addressed to the teaching Church—the local church, Christian universities, and colleges, as well as parachurch or Christian-based ministries. Organized around an exegesis of 1 Timothy 1:5, the article promotes agape-love as a goal of discipleship. Agape, an evidence of Christian maturity exerts considerable impact on the methods and objectives of the ministry of discipleship. Consequently, the disciple-maker will utilize various learning and teaching modes which benefit their student-disciples.
