Abstract
Drawing from Jacques Maritain, Flannery O'Connor, and Esther Lightcap Meek, this article describes the proper aesthetic foundation of education. Rather than the modern reductionistic vision of education that starts in doubt and works its way to certainty, utilizing 1 Corinthians 13.12 as a paradigm for education, education, rightly ordered, starts in love and works its way to wonder. This aesthetic education requires the cultivation of vision through attention and a posture of humility.
