‘We'll Train Them Here’

Abstract

Since 1986, The Tampa Tribune has recruited and hired the 10 best J-school grads it can find every year. Once they're in the newsroom, the Tribune trains them in-house: law, writing, editing, reporting. “They are ours, trained by our best writers and editors and grateful for the chance to work at a major metro right out of college.”
