Abstract
Previous research on statehouse reporters' use of state government sources is replicated and extended in this analysis of a 12-day sample of stories about the Michigan statehouse. Findings indicate that wire service and local newspaper reporters use fewer and less diverse sources than newspaper statehouse bureau reporters. However, the three groups of reporters used the great majority of available sources about as frequently and manifested the same priorities in their selection of sources.
