Abstract
This paper reports the deliberations of a November 2014 “Dodging the Memory Hole” forum of scholars, librarians, archivists, technologists, lawyers and journalists at the University of Missouri to address the problems of preserving born-digital news. To dodge the memory hole, the paper suggests the urgency of resolving copyright and financial barriers to the preservation of news content.
