Specialization Still Favored in Most Newspaper Jobs

Abstract

This study compares survey data from 2009 to 2007 to determine the importance of role convergence. Findings indicate some convergence in the day-to-day operation of newspapers; however, jobs that still require specialized skills include reporters, editors and photographers.
