Mad Cow Coverage More Positive in Midwest Papers

Abstract

A content analysis comparing coverage of the first U.S. mad cow outbreak found that Midwest papers used more episodic frames and were more positive in tone than were coastal papers, which used more human health frames and were more negative overall.
