Abstract
The Yonkers case is viewed by some as a landmark with promise for equity in education, but will this de cision provide a vehicle for Ameri can communities to reduce residen tial segregation and school discrimination? Will it encourage planners to help communities reduce school discrimination by influencing the location of housing? Will it moti vate planning schools to prepare more persons for equity in educa tion ? This article asks these unan swered questions and identifies some of the unresolved issues they raise.
