Abstract
Accurate assessment of skills that contribute to employability is a key factcr in the access of vccateonal education. The use of norm-referenced devices for this purpose has many disadvantages. Criterion-referenced tests may be more appropriate, however as currently used, they provide little indication of the learner's capacity to acquire skills necessary for success in competitive employment. This paper presents the Dynamic Criterion-Referenced Vocational (DCRV) Assessment as a technique for measuring a person's potential for modification of behaviors rekevant to a specific learning situation. It describes the purpose of DCRV assess ment, provides an example of its applications, and discusses its implications for handicapped learners, practitioners, and employers.
