Abstract
Development of a simple laboratory scale ignition test to serve as a quality control tool in conjunction with larger scale tests such as California Technical Bulletin 133 has been continued.
Using the California Technical Bulletin 117 configuration the proposed foam test procedure uses a lightweight standard polypropylene fabric and an igni tion source of a 55 ml cube of 160 kg/m3 density rigid foam.
Alternatively the procedure may be useful in screening fabrics and in nerliners with an appropriate foam. Main criteria are burn time and weight loss.
