Unmodified cellulose and cellulose fabrics finished with different N/P mole ratios of Pyrovatex CP were subjected to thermogravimetric analysis and flame retardant tests. The relationship between kinetic data and flame retardancy are interpreted for the main cellulose pyrolysis stage; the mechanism of cotton fabrics finished with reactive flame retardants is also discussed.
