The effect of flame retardant on the thermal degradation of poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(vinyl chloride) blend has been studied using thermogravimetric and differential analysis, infrared absorption spectra and pyrolysis-gas chroma tography. The flame retardants used in this study were stannic acid and antimony trioxide.
