Abstract
The experience of the Biffa Waste Services Company in the training of waste operators is reviewed. The Company has adopted a marketing platform for its many services which recognizes the important part that the environment plays and believes that only through training of everyone will its objectives be achieved. The collection operator is high on the list of training priorities. Training is seen as just one facet of an interlocking series of activities which has helped the company to grow. It goes beyond the point of driver training and includes the concept of training the company's operators in waste handling.
