Abstract
The following summaries of selected reported decisions of federal courts are intended to alert the reader to developments that might warrant further research with respect to the rapidly expanding corpus of corrections and detentions case law. The cases included in this survey were decided from the latter part of 1989 through 1990. This time frame was determined by the publication schedules of the Review and of the federal reporters in which the cases appear. As in the previous annual surveys, the reader is reminded that the cases summarized here do not serve as binding precedent beyond their respective jurisdictions, and that some of the decisions are being appealed and are therefore subject to possible modification or reversal.
