Abstract
I present data on linkages between 250 senior centers and other community organizations. Approximately half of the respondents in the sample indicate that such linkages are involved with most or almost all programming efforts. The most prevalent and preferred linkages are informal as opposed to memos of understanding, contracts, or requirements by sponsors. A number of structural and demographic variables are found to be weakly correlated with overall linkage activity. Center directors indicate linkages are founded for a wide variety of reasons relating to the goals and objectives of the centers. Implications of these findings for practitioners and senior centers in general are discussed.
