Literature is summarized regarding the older worker from the
perspective of industrial psychology. Suggestions about manag
ing the older worker are derived from examining the areas of
personnel psychology, organizational psychology, and human factors in the physical environment of work. Problems facing the
older worker are examined at both individual and organizational
levels. Solutions to problems caused by age bias are suggested.
