The filler treated with silane and polysiloxane is compounded in polymer matrix. After injection molding of these compounded materials, the mechanical properties were evaluated, especially IZOD IMPACT strength. In order to make filler-polymer compounds, a twin screw extruder has to be used. The filler treated with polysiloxane can be dispersed in polymer matrix as much smaller particle size than treated with silane. This means that the IZOD IMPACT strength of the filler treated with polysiloxane is better than that treated with silane.
