Fabricated plastics are becoming increasingly important as components of potable water systems because of cost compared to metals and ease of fabrication and installation. The outstanding physical properties, dimensional stability and metal-like properties of acetal homopolymer suggest that this resin is a useful plumbing material. Acetal homopolymer has been utilized in water applications for nearly 25 years.
