Abstract
In this article, finite element analysis using commercial software ANSYS 10 for rural fibrous concrete composite beams under flexural static loading is presented. Also damage indices for different fibrous beams under flexural cyclic loading are obtained using the available simple damage index formula. Rural fibers such as nylon, plastic, tyre, coir, and sugarcane are taken for finite element analysis, and rice husk is also taken with above said fibers for damage index prediction. Three volume fractions such as 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% are used at a constant aspect ratio of 60. The results of finite element analysis are compared with experimental values. Damage indices of different fibrous concrete specimens are discussed, taking 0.5 as the desired value.
