Abstract
The variations of flexural strength and flexural modulus of unsaturated polyester-based sisal/glass hybrid composites with fiber content have been studied. The hybrid composites showed an increase in flexural properties with glass fiber loading. The effects of alkali treatment and silane treatment of fibers on the flexural properties of these sisal/glass hybrid composites have also been studied. No significant effect on the flexural properties has been observed by silane treatment but a small increase in these properties has been observed by alkali treatment.
