Abstract
Two special partial hybrid finite elements have been developed for the stress analysis of tapered composite laminates. These are quasi three dimensional elements that can be used for plain strain analysis. Partial hybrid finite elements are efficient in the use of computer space with good accuracy for stress determination. The elements are used to calculate stresses in a tapered laminate. Results compare well with results obtained using another method.
