Minimum and maximum values of transverse modulus are obtained for a multiphase composite body when its modulus in longitudinal direction is prescribed and the moduli of constituents take values in a given finite interval. Similar bounds are deduced for the longitudinal modulus of the composite when its transverse modulus is prescribed. The constituents of the composite are assumed to be homogeneous and isotropic.
