This article examines male-female differences in Ireland in attitudes toward unions. ANOVA and multiple classification analysis, applied to a survey of school-leavers' attitudes, show more favorable attitudes toward unions among females. A factor analysis is used to identify the different aspects of unions to which females show more favorable attitudes. A review of union membership statistics reveals that Irish females are joining unions at an increasing rate and are now organized to almost the same extent as males.
