This article analyzes the different sources and levels of occupational commitment of professional actors and actresses in England. The sources and levels of commitment are seen to be linked to different segments of the internal labor market in acting, which provides the economic underpinning of actors' careers. The closer actors and actresses move to the apex of the hierarchy, the more positive sources of commitment become available to them.
