Abstract
The concept of organizational replacement and the utility of data from professional football is examined. It is hypothesized and found that organizational positions systematically vary in their replacement rates. This variation is directly associated with positional visibility (the ease and availability of precise evaluation techniques for the assessment of positional task performance). Visibility is also found to relate to salaries and the racial composition of positional occupants.
