Abstract
A study was undertaken to investigate the reasons for dissatisfaction with ward meetings on the part of the staff who attend them. The research situation was a children's unit of a large psychiatric hospital. The study was carried out by giving a questionnaire to all the ward staff including the chief-of-service for each ward.
The findings indicated that in general the meetings were not well defined in terms of their goals, and it was felt that changes were necessary for all meetings. At the same time the staff thought the meetings were worthwhile, though the majority felt they were not conclusive in solving ward problems.
