Controlled clinical trial of G-33040 was conducted in a group of 14 mildly depressed out-patients, using the ‘crossover’ design. The drug was found to be effective in treatment of depression, particularly of the agitated type with somatic preoccupations and also the one in a character neurosis setting. The possible side effects were skin rash and dizziness due to postural hypotension.
