Abstract

Malla A, Margoob M, Iyer S, et al. Can J Psychiatry. 2019;64(9):621-629. (Original DOI: 10.1177/0706743719839318)
The authors have provided additional clarification for their comment on the Mental Health Gap Action Program (mhGAP), described in the “Site Description” section of the article appearing on page 623, as having “provided little improvement to access to health services” at the time the authors began their project in 2013.
The statement that the mhGAP had produced little benefit to access to mental health care at the time the authors selected the region for their project reflects the contemporaneous observation of their local team of clinician investigators. No peer-reviewed evaluation of the mhGAP was available, and this notice is to clarify that the statement reflects the clinician investigators' observations in 2013, shortly after the initial mhGAP training initiative.
