It has come to the authors' attention that their article included an error on page 766, right column, line 7. The sentences: “Indeed, sample pH was significantly lower in BD group in the study of Konradi et al.21 Thus the finding in BD may be explained by those factors.” were incorrect. The text should have read: “Thus the finding in BD may be explained by those factors. However, there was no statistically significant difference in the sample pH between the diagnoses in the study of Konradi et al21 (bipolar: mean 6.46, SD 0.15, controls: 6.54, SD 0.27, schizophrenia: 6.54, SD 0.24) (Christine Konradi, 25 January 2008, personal communication).” The Canadian Journal of Psychiatry regrets the error and any inconvenience it may have caused.
