APPLICATIONS/NOMINATIONS FOR THE AWARDS – 2025

The Palaeontological Society of India invites applications/nominations for the following awards and prizes for 2025. For details, please visit the Society’s website (https://www.palaeontologicalsociety.in).

Sharda Chandra Gold Medal: For outstanding research publication on Indian material in palaeontology in the calendar year preceding the year of the Award.

Mani Shanker Shukla Gold Medal: To a young research worker (below 40 years of age) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Indian material in micropalaeontology.

Prof. M. R. Sahni Gold Medal: To a postgraduate student of the University of Lucknow securing the highest percentage marks in the examination of Palaeontology.

Prof. S. K. Singh Memorial Gold Medal: For the best paper published in the immediate past volume of the Journal of the Palaeontological Society of India (Volume 69, 2024).

Prof. R. C. Misra Life Time Achievement Award Gold Medal: For outstanding contributions in the field of geosciences.

Fellows of the Society in good standing can send nominations for the above awards/prizes.

The past awardees and heads of the organisations/departments can also send nominations.

The following details are to be furnished while sending the nominations:

Name of the Award;

Full Name, age, address, and contact details of the nominee;

Qualifications and positions held by the nominee;

List of significant publications, with soft copy of five papers relevant to the award and;

Brief statement by the proposer (not more than 300 words) about the nominee’s scientific achievements to justify the award.

The soft and hard copies of the nomination(s) should reach the Society on or before 31 May 2025. The cut-off date for considering the candidate’s age will be 31 March 2025.
