This article details the events that prompted the author to go on the track of Trigant Burrow. It recounts how group analysis originated from psychoanalysis, gradually leading to the formulation of its theoretical-methodological structure. It also deals with the many difficulties Burrow had to face due to his ostracism by Freud and the psychoanalytic community.
